For those paying attention, at 12 midnight EST, you should furiously be clicking "WANT IT" on the Goozex upcoming release page for any games you want to get a good spot in line for. I'll be clicking for:

I'm not really interested in those games. But I did put reminders in my calendar for the next 3 weeks. LEGO Rock Band next week, Modern Warfare 2 the week after and Assassin's Creed 2, Dragon Age Origins and L4D2 the week after that.

When did they add the new trade it now option along with the pop up saying how many people want the item? It's nice.

Saturday. Be careful. If you click to open the popup, it's in your Queue (no way to back out of the window without putting it active or on-hold in your Queue).

They're going to make it work for items in your offers and requests Queues too. That will be more useful IMHO.

The Goozex Exchange is coming into it's own. It's finally listing some good stuff at reasonable prices. Borderlands and MW2 just showed up for 2200 and 2400 respectively. Limited quantities so jump in if you want them.

I didn't know you needed 400 points to take part in the exchange. I was hoping to use the rest of my points and pay the extra with paypal funds. Oh well.

I think they're still working on the model that allows you to use points + cash. Is that what you're talking about?

I just wish they'd put something up there I didn't already have pre-ordered. I've got over 5000 pts burning a whole in my pocket.

I've been eyeballing fallout 3 though. It's dropping like a rock and is only 450 pts right now. I'll snatch it up when it hits bottom (I'm guessing 300-350).

You can only do one exchange every 30 days? Man, that's weak. Just traded L4D1 in anticipation of L4D2, and was blocked from ordering MW2.

Looks like I'll go ahead and get it from Gamestop.

Update to point system.

Paid after confirmed shipped instead of confirmed trade:

"Hey everyone,

We are making another update this week to an important part of the trading system. In a few days you will no longer get points upfront after COMMITTING to a trade. Instead, you will get points upfront if you have CONFIRMED SHIPMENT.

We are doing this for two main reasons. The first is to limit abuse of the points upfront and then canceling a trade issue that we have seen lately. The second is that we want to promote good trading behavior. Clicking on that confirmed shipment button tells the buyer and Goozex that you have actually shipped the game. Please do not confirm shipment unless the game/movie is actually in the mail system.

Here's a breakdown of the two different payment scenarios:

Scenario 1: No Confirmed Shipment

Seller will not get points until the buyer provides positive feedback
Seller can initiate a trade cancel at any time (same as today)
Scenario 2: Confirm Shipment

If feedback score is greater than 20 and account is in good standing and the seller confirms shipment, then seller will receive points immediately
Seller can no longer initiate a trade cancel
If buyer leaves negative and the trade enters into a dispute process, then the seller or buyer may cancel the trade if that is the agreed best option"

No big deal really, unless you routinely pretend you shipped stuff before you actually do ... and even then, all you have to do to get the points is press the button.

I'm unloading COD:w@w for 600 this weekend in anticipation of MW2 trumping every other COD game for a long time. I'll pick w@w up again when it hits rock bottom so I can play Nazi Zombies.
